Dampak Kerugian dan Usulan Pemecahan Masalah Kualitas Crude Palm Oil (CPO) di Pabrik Kelapa Sawit

Sebagai produsen minyak sawit terbesar di dunia, tampak bahwa Indonesia memiliki daya saing yang rendah di pasar global dan pendapatan dari sektor ini berpotensi menurun. Jika dilihat secara mikro, masih banyak perusahaan-perusahaan perkebunan kelapa sawit di Indonesia yang memperhatikan kualitas di dalam pengelolaannya. Rendahnya kualitas produk yang dihasilkan, khususnya CPO, tentunya akan semakin melemahkan daya saing tersebut.Penurunan daya saing minyak sawit Indonesia (CPO) sangat dipengaruhi oleh faktor kualitas, yaitu asam lemak bebas (FFA). Masalah FFA dipengaruhi oleh kondisi buah sawit yang tidak segar dan perlakuan yang kurang memadai saat menunggu dimulainya proses pengolahan di pabrik kelapa sawit (PKS). Kerugian yang disebabkan oleh masalah FFA ternyata sangat besar. Dampak kerugian tersebut dapat diminimalisir melalui upaya-upaya perbaikan terhadap akar-akar masalah kualitas tersebut. Dengan demikian perusahaan harus segera melakukan upaya-upaya perbaikan tersebut sehingga biaya kualitas yang timbul dapat diminimalisir dengan segera.Perbaikan faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan FFA adalah sesuatu yang sangat mendesak untuk diselesaikan agar kondisi kualitas dapat ditingkatkan, sehingga CPO Indonesia akan memiliki daya saing tinggi di pasar global.
